Growing up in the Burlington/Milton area, Tim has always have a lot of options for recreational activity. Baseball, football, skiing, snowboarding, running and mountain biking are all things that occupy some amount of his spare time. Before discovering the joy of motorcycles, Tim also spent a fair part of his youth on a golf course. However, a funny thing happened when Tim got his first bike, compared to the excitement of two-wheeled motorsports golf had some how lost it's appeal.
As a teenager Tim became interested in motorcycles, sport bikes in particular. Shortly before his 16th birthday he convinced his parents that a 1988 Kawasaki EX500 would make a great first vehicle. He got his M1 license on his 16th birthday and has never looked back. An EX500, two ZX-7R's and two ZX-10R's later, Tim has found himself in the middle of the Ontario motorcycle road racing community.

Tim had been riding for several years before he'd even heard of a trackday, and road racing was a complete mystery to him. While attending The University of Western Ontario, Tim met some local riders and became good friends with several riders from the Ontario Sport Riders club (www.osrclub.com). A few of his friends were regular trackday riders and in the summer of 2006 Tim rode up to Shannonville to watch his friends riding at a trackday. The following summer Tim had worked up the courage to take his 2004 ZX-10R out on to the track. After getting some good tires and a set of track bodywork, Tim was ready. In July of 2007 Tim had his first trackday at Toronto Motorsports Park.

Tim's first trackday. July 2nd 2007
Shortly after his 1st trackday, Tim had bought another 2004 ZX-10R race bike out of Indianapolis with the intention of parting it out to make a few extra bucks to pay for more track time. Tim made the mistake of riding that bike once, after doing so he had no interest in selling it and sold his ZX-10R street bike instead.
The 2004 ZX-10R has a reputation for being a fairly nasty bike but Tim has done a respectable job of learning to go fast on a rather notorious bike. Progressing from the beginner to the intermediate and then into the advanced riding group on just his 3rd trakcday, Tim realized that riding on the track was something he was pretty good at. However, at the time Tim had no real intentions of ever taking his bike into an actual race.
"If you were to have told me back in '07 that in '09 I would start racing and in my 2nd race I'd qualify on pole and take the win.... well I would have told you that's crazy talk!"

It may have been crazy but it happened. It was through one of his close friends, Paul Hollister, that Tim became aware of the RACE Super Series held at Shannonville Motorsports Park. In 2008, Tim came up to Shannonville to watch several rounds of the Super Series and learned the ropes of how motorcycle road racing worked. It wasn't long before Tim realized that this was something he'd like to do as well.
After several more trackdays, Tim registered for his first race weekend in late 2008 but due to mechanical reasons he was not able to complete the weekend and retired after Friday practice. Over the winter after that riding season, Tim stripped down his ZX-10R and fixed his front suspension problems and got the bike ready for the 2009 season.
His first race was in June 2009 at Shannonville riding the Pro-Track configuration. After practicing well, Tim qualified poorly due to rain and not having rain tires. Starting 19th out of 25 riders, Tim managed to work his way up to 4th in a 4-lap shortened race. In his 2nd race, Tim practiced and qualified well starting the race from 1st. Leading the race in the rain from start to finish, Tim got his first win in the Novice Open class.
